Terms and Conditions for the Oregon Scholarships
Please read these terms carefully. By accepting this scholarship, you agree to the following conditions:
Commitment to Completion
While you will have access to the course for 12 months, you agree to complete the training program within 6 months from the date of your enrollment.Active Participation
You agree to participate actively in all required coursework, modules, and assessments as outlined in the program.Authentic Participation
You agree to complete all lessons, exercises, and assignments fully and as instructed. You will not mark any activities as complete without having genuinely completed the work. The final certificate will only be issued to students who have fully completed all coursework as outlined by the instructor.Academic Integrity
You agree to uphold the highest standards of academic honesty. You will keep records of all your coursework (such as worksheets, personal glossaries, and recordings). Additionally, you agree that you will not:
Copy or share answers with others
Allow anyone else to complete coursework on your behalf
Share course materials, passwords, or access credentials.
Progress Monitoring
You understand that MITS may monitor your progress, participation, and completion status. If you do not show meaningful progress over an extended period or fail to engage after multiple reminders, your scholarship and course access may be suspended or revoked.No Cash Value
You understand that this scholarship covers tuition only. No funds will be disbursed directly to you.Acknowledgment of Public Funding
You acknowledge that this scholarship is provided through public funding from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to expand access to qualified healthcare interpreters in Oregon. You agree to make a sincere and timely effort to complete the program and apply the skills gained in your professional work.Eligibility and Commitment
This scholarship is intended for students who require financial assistance to enroll in the training. If you are already able to pay for the course yourself or are not committed to completing the course at this time, please do not apply. Accepting this scholarship without genuine need takes away the opportunity from someone else who may not otherwise be able to participate in the program.Non-Transferability
The scholarship award is non-transferable and may not be sold, assigned, gifted, or otherwise conveyed to any other person or entity. Any attempt to transfer or sell the scholarship will result in immediate forfeiture of the award. MITS will not be responsible or liable for any third-party involvement or claims arising from such actions, and course access will not be granted to any individual who has not been officially awarded the scholarship by MITS.Timely Enrollment Requirement
You agree to enroll in the course within 2 weeks of receiving your access code or enrollment instructions. Failure to enroll within this timeframe will be considered a lack of interest in the program, and the scholarship award may be revoked and reassigned to another eligible applicant without further notice.Communication and Contact Information
You agree to keep your contact information current and to respond promptly to any communications from MITS regarding your scholarship, course access, or progress. Failure to maintain valid contact information or to respond to repeated outreach may result in suspension or cancellation of your scholarship award.Intended Use
You understand that this scholarship is awarded solely for your own professional development as a medical interpreter. You agree not to use the program solely for personal interest, credential collecting, or other purposes inconsistent with the program’s objectives of expanding qualified healthcare interpretation services in Oregon.Right to Modify Terms
MITS reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions as necessary to ensure the proper administration of the scholarship program. In such cases, you will be notified of any material changes.Data Use and Reporting
You acknowledge that de-identified information about your enrollment and course completion may be used for reporting and compliance purposes required by the Oregon Health Authority.
