Non-Language-Specific Program
This 60-hour program is not the typical language-neutral course that only involves reading and watching videos. Throughout this strategically designed coursework, you’ll also improve your oral interpreting skills. You’ll practice with many doctor-patient vignettes as if you were in an actual medical encounter. Although the training is not specific to any language, our innovative method will help gain skills that can be applied to any language.
Study at your own speed and at any time to earn your certificate of completion. Our short-sized lessons can easily fit into your busy schedule. This training program is approved to meet the requirements to apply for the national certification exams with CCHI and NBCMI. Moreover, this training program is approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

Basics of Interpretation
This vital module will provide you with the foundational knowledge and linguistic tools necessary to start your professional interpreting career on the right foot. You'll lay a solid base to build your skillset.
Ethics & Standards
In this course, you'll be introduced to the guidelines of professionalism and ethical conduct. It'll help you develop your critical thinking and decision-making skills by analyzing examples of potential ethical dilemmas.
Medical Terminology I
Understanding medical terminology is important for the medical interpreter, but speaking the medical language used in the day-to-day healthcare environment is paramount in ensuring effective communication.
Cardiology
Heart disease is the most common affliction in the world. In this course, you’ll interpret documents, narrations, and conversations that involve the use of medical vocabulary frequently found in this medical specialty.
Endocrinology
In this course, you'll learn more about the intricate glandular system. You’ll gain practical experience by interpreting clinical encounters related to the diagnoses and treatments of endocrine disorders.
Medical Terminology II
These interactive courses are presented in a unique combination of mesmerizing videos and audio exercises. You'll learn and review hundreds of core medical words organized by body systems.
Orthopedics
Spine disorders, joint surgeries, trauma, or a simple accident at work that turns into a workers’ comp case are some examples of interpreting assignments. In this module, you’ll practice with similar scenarios.
Psychiatry
Interpreting in mental health is probably one of the most challenging assignments for many interpreters. In this module, we'll interpret essential vocabulary that is helpful in these encounters, including med-legal.
Nephrology
Kidney disease can be attributed to other medical conditions. Discover the illnesses, symptoms, and treatments related to renal failure by putting into practice your bilingual abilities in three interpreting modes.
Oncology
Interpreting for patients with cancer and their families requires skill and solid knowledge about the complexity of this disease. In this course, you'll gain vocabulary and experience with our interactive exercises.
Skill Building
This module will help you further develop your interpreter skills by performing different exercises, such as note-taking activities, memory retention, terminology cross words, shadowing exercises and more.
Sight Translation
In this module, we'll review all the technique learned in the previous lessons. We'll focus on putting your skillset to work so that you can deliver smooth and accurate sight translation.
Simultaneous
In this module, you'll have the opportune to concentrate on practicing simultaneous interpreting only. You'll many realistic exercises that will help you become more comfortable with this interpreting mode.
Consecutive
In this module, you will be able to fine-tune your consecutive interpreting skills. Being consecutive the primary mode of interpreting in healthcare, it's paramount to become adept at it.
Ethics & Standards II
In this module, we'll review the national code of ethics into more depth. We'll further develop an understanding of the core ethical principles and protocols. We'll work with dozens of exam-like questions.
